Admission rules & regulations


  1. Applicants for admission to the Faculty of Engineering have to sit for entrance examinations organized by the General Admission and Registration Unit of the University. The applicant for the entrance examination should fulfill the conditions specified in Articles 12, 13 of the Study System Regulations. These conditions are as follows:

    1. That he should possess the general or the specialized secondary certificate or its equivalent provided not more than five years have passed since obtaining it.
    2. That he should have obtained the required percentage for the faculty, as specified by the University each year.
    3. The applicant can specify two specializations in the Faculty, as the first and second choice.


  2. The students applying to join the Faculty of Engineering shall have to sit for the entrance exams in the following subjects:

    1. English Language
    2. Physics
    3. Mathematics
    4. Free-hand drawing, for the specialization of Architectural Engineering.

    After that the students are graded on the basis of the percentage in the general secondary examinations and the entrance examinations, and a number of students are chosen for each specialization, on the basis of the capacity of the Faculty each year.


  3. Any student can be admitted to any specialization on self-financing basis provided that:

    1. He should possess the general or the specialized secondary certificate or its equivalent provided not more than five years have passed since obtaining it.
    2. He should have obtained the required percentage for the faculty, as specified by the University each year
    3. He fulfils all the conditions for admission, as declared in the year of his application, and that he presents the originals of all the required documents.
    4. Payment of the fees.
